Centralizing Data

A centralized database is our solution to the problem of disseminating information within a league. An LD
Hub Site can offer a great boost to an organization operating on limited resources. Local youth athletic leagues often fit this model.

LDHub Web Sites assist in the task of running an athletic league. The Hub is directly connected to a centralized database which holds vital, league-wide information. League directors, coordinators and schedulers create and maintain this data — some of which is accessed directly by web sites of clubs in the league.

The Hub Site is equipped with a scheduling application more robust than that which is found on an LDClub Site. This gives a Hub the ability to maintain a master schedule for an entire league. Club Sites are then able to obtain the data they need from the Hub to dynamically keep their own schedule pages up-to-date.

A Hub Site Makes Data Available to Club Sites:
• Divisions
• Schedules
• Fields
A Hub Site Receives Data from Club Sites:
• Teams
• Officers/Coordinators
• Fields

An LDClub Sites is set up to communicate with an LDHub Site while still maintaining its own database located at its own domain. Likewise, there may be some divisions designated as "in-house" where teams play only other teams in the Club. Creating and posting schedules for such divisions remain the responsibility of the Club's Officers/Coordinators.

It is believed that League Dynamics’ model of the hub was the inspiration for some important inventions.
